I used this song in my funny-animal story "Little Orphan Animals" ,a take on the Chipettes ( 80's )
The three ,Citronella Peterson (skunk), Sis Waldo (beagle), and Honeybunch (rabbit) launch a singing career, and go on tour .Things go awry and when the 3 are toiling on a farm, Sis sings this song. She is a pessimist, just as Honeybunch is an optimist (and thus seen as simple) and Citronella is a realist.
